Lola Gaspar
About This Spot
Step inside Lola Gaspar and you’re welcomed by a vibrant blend of energy and warmth—a place where the buzz of laughter meets the clink of cocktail glasses against rustic, warmly lit interiors. This is no typical dinner stop; it’s a spot that invites you to slow down just enough to savor both the lively atmosphere and thoughtfully crafted flavors.
The pace here is unhurried but lively, making it equally inviting for a casual evening out with friends or a solo evening at the bar, perhaps sampling one of their uniquely balanced mezcal or tequila cocktails. The space hums with a gently rhythmic soundtrack that’s loud enough to enhance the mood, yet soft enough to keep conversations flowing effortlessly. It strikes that rare balance between a neighborhood gem and a destination worth seeking out.
Food at Lola Gaspar is a conversation in itself. The aromas mingle playfully—charred spices, fresh herbs, and the promise of something bright and lively with every bite. You’ll find the comfort of traditional Mexican fare playfully reimagined, like tender carnitas tacos or the unexpected depth of a lentil-infused quesadilla. And while chips and guacamole here feel like a celebration of the familiar done exceptionally well, the inventive twists—like pumpkin seeds folded into the guac or rich, velvety churros dusted with cinnamon—offer moments of joyful discovery.
Sharing plates and skewers add a convivial touch to the experience, inviting conversation and the simple pleasure of passing flavors around the table. Each cocktail, from the herbaceous gin blends to smoky mezcal creations, feels like an extension of the kitchen’s warmth—crafted to both complement and elevate the meal.
More than anything, Lola Gaspar feels like a space designed for connection—between friends, between flavor and memory, and between the vibrant culture it celebrates and the local community it calls home. Whether you’re here for the late happy hour or a slow weekend meal, the rhythm you find between good company, attentive service, and food that carries subtle surprises will stay with you long after the last bite.

The service here was great and the food was delicious. Our server was friendly and gave us recommendations when we asked. The chips were thin, crispy and perfectly salted and the guacamole was some of the best I’ve had. The chorizo quesadilla was unique with the lentils, but so good. All 3 salsas provided were excellent and we all enjoyed the brisket and carnitas tacos. My husband said the brisket taco was his favorite. The drinks were also very good. We will for sure come back again sometime.

Arrived for late happy hour, Thursday, About 5:30 pm... Went to check it out as a result of the venue just being recognized as a "Michelin Selected Restaurant". A slight wait to be acknowledged at entrance to be seated. A little discouraging but turned out to be no big deal. I was politely asked where I'd like to sit...chose the bar, as a single patron. I was quickly approached by the personable bartender/server, Garrick. I chose a margarita (jigger poured, approx 2oz tequila and 2 oz mix, shaken and strained into an ice filled, salted rim "bucket"). It was tasty, and satisfyingly potent...I had two, and actually felt a little buzz, and I'm not a lightweight!!! It was "Thursday Date Night", the only night you can get Bacon wrapped, cheese filled dates...VERY sweet n' savory, oh, and quite good. One of my reasons to visit, was to try the Blue Corn, deep fried, Chili Relleno. NOT your typical Relleno, except the cheese stuffed pepper, but was well worth the try...you should try it too! It sat in a thin red pepper type sauce that is quite potent. I loved it, but it might be too "hot" for the weak palate. CAREFUL! Overall, it was a very worthwhile visit, albeit short due to the damn parking meter!!! Some amateur diners might think that the offerings are a bit pricey, but it's actually appropriate, given the ingredients, preparation, and this lovely economy!!! Kudos to the kitchen staff, Garrick and also Aristotle, another personable front of house guy.

Really like coming to this places. The drinks are good, would recommend the Paloma. The guacamole is my favorite with the pumpkin seeds. The taco are 3.5 stars but overall atmosphere, service, and drinks make up for it.

The food and drinks were amazing! I ordered the chile relleno, sweet potato tacos, chorizo and lentil quesadilla, brisket taco and the churro.

Hands down, the best restaurant in Santa Ana. The camote and carrot al pastor tacos are out of this world. Everything tastes incredible. The music is great—at the perfect volume to chat with your peeps. And don’t forget the churros.

I always have a great time here. Came from my business A+ Bail Bonds over on 2112 E. Fourth Street. I wanted something fresh, new and flavorful, so I looked some and came here. Hopefully you’ll look us up if you are in need of bail, haha. Thanks for the great service.

My new favorite place. All their drinks options are delicious. A fabulous arrays of appetizers: guacamole tasted fantastic with yummy salsa options, their bacon wrapped dates are uniquely sweet and salty with a creamy blue cheese. And my absolutely favorite was their chile relleno. Super friendly host and waiter. A must stop place in Santa Ana.
